This sermon is based on Paul and Silas's experiences in Philippi. The Gospel brings freedom that can't be taken away, but it can be given away. When you proclaim the Gospel, you can expect 1) opposition 2) joy, and 3) transformation.

John 5:1-15
An imaginative view of life from the man who was healed by Jesus after 38 years of being an invalid (see John 5:1-18).

Note for sticklers: there is no biblical evidence that this man was a) called Michael b) present at Pentecost c) someone who spoke with an Aussie ocker accent. However, I’ve taken poetic and imaginative "preachers’ license" to wonder what would have happened to him after Jesus healed him, and follow through on Jesus’ words to him.
